Construction of a maternity annex at Mwalumina Health centre in Chongwe district has started.
And speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony for the project, area Member of Parliament, Japhen Mwakalombe said the works will be funded using Constituency Development Fund -CDF.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mwakalombe has disclosed that part of the CDF will be prioritised to education sector projects.

He explained that this is in line with government’s continued plans to construct schools in various parts of the country.
Mr. Mwakalombe was speaking at a community meeting held at Mwalumina Primary School, where part of the CDF has been used to replace the roof for a 1 by 3 classroom block.
The CDF has also been used to sink a borehole and install a hand pump at Mausa Primary School.
And Mwalumina ward Councillor, Amos Malubila has commended government for spreading development to all parts of the country, including rural areas.
