Government has engaged the government of Mozambique to address the issues of stranded Zambian fuel tanker drivers in that country.

Transport Minister MUTOTWE KAFWAYA says all the issues affecting Zambian Tanker drivers will be addressed using diplomatic channels.

Mr. KAFWAYA, who is in Mozambique, was speaking when he addressed Zambian Tanker drivers in Beira this morning.

He was accompanied by his Mozambican counterpart JANFAR ABDULAI, Zambian ambassador to Mozambique PAUL LUMBI and representatives from the Tanker Unions.

Mr. KAFWAYA assured the Zambian drivers that all their grievances have been presented to the Mozambican government for action.

He said Zambian drivers will be allowed to load fuel for onward transportation to Zambia.

The Minister also took time to listen to challenges facing the drivers when transporting fuel to Zambia.

And Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association General Secretary BENSON TEMBO complained that Zambian transporters have been omitted from loading fuel at the Port of Beira.

He complained that there is low participation of Zambians in transporting fuel meant for the country.
