Kapyongo said there has been an increase in cases of people been scammed being recorded by the Drug Enforcement Commission DEC through its Anti Money Laundering Activities department.He has also warned unscrupulous people in the habit of stealing from others that they risk facing the wrath of the law.Hon. Kampyongo said government will do everything possible to protect citizens against money circulation schemes.He cautioned people to be conscious of institutions offering them terms of investments in money circulation that are too good to be true.Speaking when he delivered a ministerial statement in parliament yesterday, Hon Kapyongo advised the public to be vigilant against fraudsters who would want to steal from them.Hon Kampyongo also called on people to ensure that the institution is duly registered with the Patents and Companies Registration Agency PACRA or any other recognized institution before making an investment.“Members of the public should ensure that before taking an investment in any business, the institution is duly registered with the Patents and Companies Registration Agency PACRA. Members of the public should be wary of the increased fraudsters wanting to steal from them,” he saidHe has since called on the Bank of Zambia, Drug enforcement commission to educate people on money circulation Schemes.Hon. Kapyongo has also called upon stakeholders and Area members of parliament to take interest in the matter of educating people especially in rural areas on the dangers of investing in not registered money circulation groups.Hon. Kapyongo acknowledged there are genuine village banking groups while others just want to steal from people.He said government will do everything possible to protect citizens against money circulation schemes.Hon Kampyongo has also advised the public to alert at all times when investing money.
