Local Government Minister Charles Banda has urged councils in the country whose infrastructure projects are at eighty percent complete to step up efforts to ensure their quick completion.
Speaking when he toured developmental projects in Kazungula district today, Dr. Banda said Government has in the last two weeks released one hundred and fifty million Kwacha towards completion of projects that are above eighty percent.
He urged councils, especially those in new districts and have not yet received the government funding, to follow up with the respective provincial administrations.
And Dr. Banda is happy with the progress made on the construction of the bus station and civic centre in Kazungula District.
He said government wants the two projects to be completed soon so that workers can work in a conducive environment.
And Kazungula Council Secretary Mwiche Mudala has urged the private sector to take advantage of the massive development in the district such as the Kazungula Bridge to invest in the area.
