Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia retirees have commended Government for the release of the 89 million kwacha for their terminal benefits, saying the funds will help improve their wellbeing.
Dinah Kasekela, 61 told ZNBC news that she is thankful that Government has paid them their benefits.
And, Jeston Chifita has advised his fellow retirees to use their money wisely.
Speaking earlier, NCZ Chief Executive officer William Mwale said the company has so far paid out 83 million Kwacha from the 89-million-kwacha Government released.
Mr. Mwale said 166 retirees were expected to benefit from the monies released, of which 154 NCZ retirees have so far received the funds.
He said the monies will help the company reduce liabilities and enable it save about 1 million kwacha every month which was used to pay the retirees who were appearing on the payroll before they got their retirement packages.
Meanwhile, Kafue District Commissioner Gibson Sinkala said his office will continue to engage the retirees on how best they can invest their monies.
