The Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act does not in any way contravene the Constitution, and its provisions are in line with the country’s constitutional limitations on citizens’ rights and freedoms.Deputy chief State advocate Comfort Mulenga has since urged the Constitutional Court not to grant six civil society organisations plea to prevent prosecution of law-breakers using the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act.“The relief being sought by the petitioners to preserve the status quo and prevent any prosecution under the Act has the same effect as granting an injunction against the State, which is contrary to the provisions of the State Proceedings Act
