Transport and Communication Permanent Secretary MISHECK LUNGU has challenged the Road Transport and Safety Agency
Transport and Communication Permanent Secretary MISHECK LUNGU has challenged the Road Transport and Safety Agency -RTSA- and other road safety stakeholders to be proactive and increase public awareness on road safety to further reduce road fatalities.
Mr. LUNGU says despite the recorded decrease in road traffic accidents, more people have continued losing lives due to over speeding and drink driving among other causes.

He has since urged the RTSA to enhance sensitisation before, during and after elections when some people get over excited and lose lives in road accidents.
Mr. LUNGU was speaking during this year’s United Nations global road safety week held under the theme ‘managing speed’.
And United Nations Development Programme Officer in Charge JAN WILLIEM VAN DEN BROEK says the UNDP will continue to support a vision of the future where all Zambian urban dwellers can enjoy much more user-friendly pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure.
