Government has launched the disbursement of over Nine point 3-million-kwacha Second Phase COVID -19 Emergency Cash Transfer in Nakonde District of Muchinga Province.

Muchinga Province Permanent Secretary Davison Mulenga says 5 thousand 7 hundred and 81 other beneficiaries received their package in the First Phase that was paid out in December 2020.

Mulenga says the relief package is meant to help the vulnerable households with 4-hundred kwacha for a period of 6 months as a cushion after a 10 -day lockdown in May last year.


He says the funds will assist the district that became a covid-19 hotspot.

ZANIS reports that the disbursement of the second phase of the COVID -19 Emergency Cash Transfer funds targets to benefit 3 thousand 9 hundred and 10 households.
