Government has released over 5 million Kwacha to benefit 5-thousand and 87 households in Lukulu district of Western Province, under the Social Cash Transfer programme.
Lukulu District Commissioner TEDDY CHIMBINDE says government is impressed with the prudent utilisation of the funds by the beneficiaries.
Mr. CHIMBINDE says the programme has tremendously impacted on poverty reduction in the district.
He says it is government’s resolve to continue devising timely interventions targeted at vulnerable sections of society to free them from the shackles of poverty.
The Lukulu District Commissioner has also disclosed that more beneficiaries will by July this year be brought on board as the financial support from government has unprecedentedly increased.
