Several supermarkets, petrol stations and a McDonald’s restaurant have been listed as exposure sites across Melbourne’s north, as authorities issue alerts over unexpected wastewater detections across the city.
The Coles-Warringal Shopping Centre in Heidelberg the Coles-Bundoora Square shopping Centre have been listed overnight as Tier 2 sites for a range of time periods dating back to May 28.
The McDonald’s drive-through at Thomastown and Gami Chicken & Beer at Epping have also been listed for Thursday 27 May.
Authorities have also flagged concern after virus fragments were detected in three water catchments that did not have confirmed COVID-19 cases.
While they could be due to a recovered case shedding the virus, authorities have issued a heightened alert for anyone with the slightest symptoms in the following areas to get tested immediately:
- Glenroy, Hadfield, Oak Park, Pascoe Vale
- Burwood East, Forest Hill, Glen Waverley, Scoresby, Vermont South, Wantirna South, Wheelers Hill
- Balwyn, Balwyn North, Blackburn, Blackburn, North, Box Hill, Box Hill North, Bulleen, Doncaster, Doncaster East, Donvale, Mitcham, Mont Albert, Mont Albert North, Nunawading
