President EDGAR LUNGU has called for resilience from Zambians in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The President says the country will emerge strong from the challenges caused by Covid-19

He says it is sad that the opposition have decided to create an impression that it is only Zambia’s economy which is not performing well in the world.

President LUNGU says Zambians are wise enough not to be deceived by those that do not mean well for the country.

He says people from neighbouring countries would not having been coming to Zambia to buy their commodities such as fuel and groceries if the country is not doing well.

The Head of State says a number of countries in the world have been affected by the Covid 19 pandemic.

President LUNGU said this after visiting a market in Chimwemwe township in Kitwe where he grew up.

And President LUNGU encouraged traders and young people from the townships like Chimwemwe not to lose hope.

He said children from humble backgrounds like himself can become influential leaders when they work hard.

President LUNGU who recalled some of the memories as he grew up in Chimwemwe urged young people to work hard and put GOD first.

Meanwhile President LUNGU observed that compliance levels to Covid 19 guidelines across the country are low.

He said this is why he has taken it upon himself to sensitize the people.
