Patriotic Front -PF- Lusaka Province Chairperson KENNEDY KAMBA has challenged political parties aspiring to form government after 12 August 2021 to tell the nation where they stand on debt swap for Civil Servants.
Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka, Mr. KAMBA added it is important that Government is commended for the positives it has achieved despite the tough COVID times.
He said some opposition political parties know very well that government means well on the introduction of the debt swap initiative for civil servants.
Mr. KAMBA said the PF, under the leadership of President EDGAR LUNGU, has continued to introduce progressive initiatives that are aimed at improving the livelihood of all Zambians.
Meanhwile the National Union of Technical Education Lectures and Allied Workers says the debt swap initiative for civil servants has come at the right time when government’s priority is to grow the economy which has been derailed by effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Union President EMMANUEL MWILA further says the move is a step in the right direction as it will improve the livelihood of civil servants and in turn improve productivity and enhance service delivery.
Mr. MWILA said the TEVET sector is another sector which is key in growing the economy.
He has appealed to government to extend the debt swap initiative to quasi government institutions and the Technical Education Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training -TEVET- sector.
