Green Economy and Environment Minister COLLINS NZOVU says his ministry will conduct Smart Environmental impact assessments on areas that are ecologically sensitive in a bid to promote Environmental sustainability.

Mr. NZOVU says this will be among the key projects the Ministry will undertake in order to contribute to economic development.

He says the creation of the Ministry by President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA was strategic in ensuring Zambia becomes a key contributor in the fight against Climate change as a way of cushioning the impact of global warming.

Mr. NZOVU also says to accelerate the new developmental agenda, the Ministry will foster close collaborations with countries like Sweden so that Zambia can attain its sustainable development goals in line with the vision 2030.

He was speaking when he conferred with visiting Swedish vice Minister of International Development Cooperation JANINE ALM ERICSON who was accompanied by officials from the Swedish embassy in Zambia at his office today.

The Minister has since called for close collaborations between both governments in the transfer of knowledge and training of Zambian staff in Environmental management programs.

AND Ms JANINE ALM ERICSON said her country will work with the Zambian government in promoting climate change projects.

Ms. ERICSON said the Creation of the Ministry will be a key driver of Economic diversification and job creation for women and youths once Environmental sustainability projects are implemented.

And Sweden’s Ambassador to Zambia ANNA MAJ HULTGARD said the embassy will offer its unwavering support to the new administration.
