Jordan’s King Abdullah II received Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Sunday, discussing bilateral ties and cooperation.
According to the official Petra News Agency, the meeting took place at the Al-Husseiniya Palace in Amman.
During the meeting, King Abdullah II said Jordan always stands with Lebanon and brotherly Lebanese people.
Besides bilateral relations and further cooperation on different issues, the crises in the region and efforts to find political solutions were also on the meeting’s agenda.
Jordan announced on Wednesday that it had agreed to supply Lebanon with electricity via Syria, a few weeks after Egypt agreed to supply Beirut with gas.
The electricity ministers of Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria met in Amman on Wednesday to discuss plans to restore an previous electric interconnection line between Jordan and Syria that had been out or service since 2012.
Syria also has interconnection power lines with Lebanon.
