North Western Province Minister ROBERT LIHEFU has urged the Ministry of Mines to quickly resolve operational issues at Kasenseli Gold Mine in Mwinilunga District.

Mr. LIHEFU says Kasenseli Gold Mine in its current form is not contributing adequately to the development of the Province.

Speaking when Mines and Mineral Development Minister PAUL KABUSWE called on him in Solwezi, Mr. LIHEFU said the area has been invaded by foreigners who are buying Gold from the mine at a cheap price.

And Mr. KABUSWE called for integrity among workers in the mining sector adding that most of the issues at Kasenseli Gold Mine are owing to lack of integrity.

He said government wants to bring sanity at Kasenseli Gold Mine.

Mr. KABUSWE also expressed disappointment that some contractors in the mining value chain are not delivering quality works.

He said government is working towards making sure that the mining industry becomes viable to foster national development.
