Farmers in Nsanjika area of Chipata District are optimistic that the early distribution of farming inputs under the Farmer Input Support Program -FISP- will be key in enhancing agro production.

The farmers say the commendable move by government will help them plan properly as agriculture is the mainstay of the area’s economy.

Nsanjika Camp Agricultural Committee Chairperson Emmanuel Banda says farmers in the area are happy that they have started getting the inputs before the onset of the rains which is key to their business.

And Chipata District Marketing Development Officer under the Ministry of Agriculture Charles Mwanza says all the farmers will be able to receive inputs before the onset of the rains.

Mr. Mwanza says farmers are grateful to Neria’s Investment for delivering inputs on time.

Meanwhile one of the beneficiaries Cecilia Lungu from Carrot Cooperative society says farmers are impressed with the easy process of redeeming their inputs at Neria’s Investments.

Neria’s Investment Chipata warehouse manager Gilbert Malumo says cooperatives started redeeming their inputs yesterday using the Zambia Integrated agricultural information management system.
