Senior Chieftainess NKOMESHYA MUKAMAMBO the second of the Soli SOpeople has assured government of her support.

Chieftainess NKOMESHYA says her role as a traditional leader is to support the government of the day.

The traditional leader pledged to render support to the UPND administration it endeavours to better the living standards of the people.

The Chieftainess said this when Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO and Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Minister, CHARLES MILUPI paid a courtesy call on her in Chongwe.

Meanwhile, Chieftainess NKOMESHYA has appealed to the government to quickly resolve the water challenges facing the people of Chongwe.

She described the water challenge in the district as a grave matter.

The traditional leader cited the damming of water by commercial farmers along the Chalimbana River as one of the major problems that has contributed to erratic water supply in the district.

The Chieftainess urged government to engage the commercial farmers so that they can open up the dammed water.

She expressed dissatisfaction with the manner the Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company has been handling the water problem in the district.

And speaking earlier, Mr. MILUPI said the new dawn government attaches great importance to issues surrounding the supply of clean and safe drinking water.

The Minister explained that He was in the district to appreciate the extent of the water challenges and the road infrastructure.

Meanwhile Ms. MASEBO who is also Chongwe Member of Parliament hoped that the proposed 2022 national budget once approved by parliament will address water challenges in Chongwe.
