Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has lead first president KENNETH KAUNDA’s family to lay wreaths at the Embassy part to mark the inaugural KK Day.
Mrs. NALUMANGO arrived at the Embassy Park at about 10:00 hours and laid wreaths at the resting place of Dr. KAUNDA.
Dr. KAUNDA’s family was led by his son Colonel PANJI KAUNDA.
After the wreath lying ceremony, Mrs. NALUMANGO interacted with Dr KAUNDA’s family.
And speaking earlier Colonel KAUNDA said KK day should be commemorated by promoting the values that his father stood for.
He said his father loved humanity, and wished for a peaceful country where people loved their neighbours.
Colonel KAUNDA said president KAUNDA detested tribalism and wished for a united Zambia.
He said citizens must celebrate the day by doing something good for the next person such as visiting a hospital, prison or other charity work.
