Justine Akakulubelwa-Labour and Social Security Minister, BRENDA TAMBATAMBA, has urged Zambians to denounce norms and practices that promote discrimination against women.
Ms. TAMBATAMBA says there is need to create a favourable environment that fosters creativity and participation of women to realize full benefits of an empowered citizenry.
She said this when she officially opened the First University of Zambia Lecturers and Researchers Union -UNZALARU- Women’s Committee Quadrennial Conference, in Livingstone.
And UNZALARU Women’s Committee Chairperson, BIBIAN KALINDE, encouraged women to aspire for decision making positions to improve the welfare of other women in the country.
Meanwhile, UNZALARU President, ANDREW PHIRI, said the union will continue supporting women to realise their full potential.
