Various stakeholders advocating for the Access to Information Bill to be passed into law have expressed optimism that government will deliver on its promises.

Free Press Initiative Chairperson, SALLY CHIWAMA says her organization will take advantage of government’s good will and ensure that the public is also engaged on the importance of the law.

Ms. CHIWAMA told ZNBC News in an interview the Access to Information bill is not only for the media but also members of society.

And, Media Liaison Committee Chairperson ENOCK NGOMA said his organization has joined forces with Civil Society Organizations by coming up with a group called Access to Information Coalition.

Mr. NGOMA explains that there is need to have more voices under one body that will speak to Government.

Meanwhile, Journalist and Lawyer JOE NKANDANI has observed that having access to information law in place will help the public to understand Government programmes.
